Education:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency
Experience:
Experience working in a farm environment.
Experience in planting, pruning and general maintenance of orchards and vineyards.
Experience in the operation of various farm equipment and tools.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of the maintenance of farm equipment and tools.
Knowledge of safety hazards commonly encountered on a farm and their preventions or corrective measures.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to record basic agronomic data.

Asset Qualification - Experience:
Experience in field crop agricultural research.

Reliability Status security clearance
Possession of a valid, class G Ontario driver's license, or other provincial/territorial equivalency.
Ability and willingness to work in harsh outdoor environments such as heat and cold.
Ability and willingness to tolerate the presence of irritants such as dust, pollen and spores.
Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work activities.
Ability and willingness to work with chemicals and pesticides.
Ability and willingness to lift and carry items up to 25 kg.
