Reporting to the Front Office Manager (FOM) and the Director of Operations (DO) and/or General Manager (GM) in the DO's absence, this role will oversee and assist/manage the daily operations across all departments, ensuring that all associates are fully engaged to deliver a memorable guest experience.

The main driver for this role will be to grow GSS across all departments.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Duty Manager position involves a variety of duties including, but not limited to:

  • Proactively assist/manage all departments by creating a positive environment where motivated associates want to learn, excel and create memorable experiences for our guests.
  • Provide excellent guest service, by being readily available for all guests, and by seeking and providing Magic Moments.
  • Ensure all Brand Standards are complied with, and that policies and procedures are consistently met.
  • Communicate with key departments (Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage and Culinary) to ensure brilliant guest experiences from arrival to departure.
  • Respond to all guest requests, problems and concerns in an attentive courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure complete guest satisfaction, and record in the Daily Report.
  • Ensure the smooth running of service when on duty.
  • Follow up with the respective Department Head regarding missing supplies and/or equipment in the hotel, and ensure such items have been ordered.
  • Act as a support to all departments when in need, whether personally or by finding other Associates to step in an assist, during busy peak periods.
  • Be flexible in assisting around the hotel in response to business and guest needs.
  • Walk the property with "fresh eyes" to spot areas of improvement, whether physical or service related and bring ideas forward to Management.
  • Assume responsibility whilst on duty for any emergency situation, in line with our current emergency response procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities as and when required by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Previous experience in a supervisory role with a branded hotel company.
  • PMS/MARSHA System experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work well with others to promote a cohesive Team Environment.
  • Strong effective leadership skills.
  • Calm composure in dealing with all guest issues and any emergencies.
