About the Opportunity
RAM Elevators & Lifts Inc. is an industry leading, Edmonton-based manufacturer of residential and commercial elevators and accessibility lifts. Our team is looking to hire an organized and efficient individual to join our Shipping/Receiving department.
About the role
The incumbent will be part of the Shipping and Receiving team and will be part of various shipping and receiving activities.
You will use a series of tools (nail guns, drills, hammers, ratchets) and materials (foam, bubble wrap, wood, OSB) to package different RAM products for shipping.
While managing time packaging, you will also responsible for receiving incoming materials into the building, counting that material, and getting it to the team leads.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area.Responsibilities
Shipping Duties:
- Prepare and pack items for shipment.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation.
- Arrange transportation and coordinate shipments with carriers.
- Ensure accuracy of shipments and verify contents against shipping documents.
Receiving Duties:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments.
- Unload and organize received goods.
- Document and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Update inventory records and maintain accurate stock levels.
Inventory Management:
- Keep track of inventory levels and reorder stock as needed.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Utilize inventory management software/systems.
Communication:
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipments and deliveries.
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill orders and maintain smooth operations.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols during shipping and receiving processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as required.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory.
- Generate reports on shipping and receiving activities.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent. Certified Forklift Operator
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is often preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving processes and logistics.
Skills:
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other related equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills for using inventory management systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects upto 50lbs.
- Stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
Team Player:
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other departments.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$18.00 per hour
Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week
