The Opportunity
Role Summary
As TheAppLabb's UI Design Lead, you will be responsible for creating and improving visual designs across digital products built at TheAppLabb.
The Product Design Lead will be responsible for the hiring & building the UI team of around 4 to 5 resources.
What you will do (Role Responsibilities)**
The base responsibility
- Be a great team player, experienced in working with agile teams. Ability to collaborate closely with developers, copywriters and UX designers.
- Architect, design and implement frontend framework and services using
- Create, improve, and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods.
- Present and defend your design decisions. All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles (i.e., color theory, visual weight, etc.)
- Continually keep yourself and your design team updated with the latest changes in your industry's standards.
- Offer recommended solutions to clients' design and usability problems
- Help conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
- Other duties, as assigned.
Leadership:
- Lead design projects from discovery to handing final highfidelity design files to engineering and QA.
- Delegating tasks to design team members and overseeing work done, continuously providing feedback, and organizing effective and efficient collaboration.
- Provide constructive support, advice and project rollout updates during leadership meetings
- Create a positive atmosphere by demonstrating a Growth Mindset and Lead company values by example
- Have a proactive solutionsoriented approach to issues that may arise

Manager responsibilities:
- Day to day employee Management managing team's time, queries, administrative etc.
- Identification and promotion of high potentials and talent
- Regular management of direct reports 1:1s, appraisals, learning/coaching plans defined
- Leadership to the team
What you'll need (Required Qualifications)
Formal Education or Equivalent
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or related field
Years of Experience
- MUST have 4 years of work experience in Design Research Methodologies/practices.
- MUST have 2 years of work experience in UI Design for digital products including web & mobile.
- 2 Year or more experience in People management & Coaching.
Competencies
- Strong portfolio to be presented and defended during interview.
- Proficient in Figma or Sketch with at least 3 years of experience
Specialized skills, knowledge, or certifications unique to this role
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Experience conducting user validations of designs via A/B Testing
- Experience designing for a consumer facing app
- Experience in creating and contributing to design system documents
