Reporting to the Manager, Control Centre & Dispatch, this position provides operational business analysis services to ATCO's Gas & Pipelines division.

The focus of this position is to work closely with the Control Centre & Dispatch department to gain in-depth understanding of the 24/7 operational services, programs, processes, and data associated with providing safe and reliable natural gas service and emergency management.

This role will be key to ensuring the department is able to provide consistently excellent service to both its internal and external customers.


What you get to do:

  • Create and update department Business Process Models (BPMs)
  • Proactively provide options for new/enhanced best practices, opportunities for improvement and identification of pain points
  • Work closely with and support the department BA Change Champions
  • Support teams in using PowerApps, PowerBI and Jira, as needed, to fulfill the BPM, analyzing the business processes and adjusting operations and/or BPMs as needed.
  • Review Quality Programs and processes for fit and usefulness
  • Liaise with the Organizational Excellence team to ensure BA artifacts conform to ATCO standards, contribute to developing new/updated organizational excellence processes and practices.
  • Lead analysis of emerging initiatives, collaborate effectively with stakeholders within and outside of the Control Centre & Dispatch group.
  • Contribute to emerging analysis initiatives originating from other teams and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures, and supporting various workgroups through changes.
  • Create informative, actionable, and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant operational trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Administer department IT environment to create and manage workflows, facilitate document controls, manage site functionalities and access provisions, and other administrative functions.
  • Validate resource requirements and develop cost estimate models for proposed changes.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reviews and analyses of current processes using operational data, metrics, and reports.
  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes.
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or onetime operational issues.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience appropriate for this position.
  • 35 years business or operational analysis experience.
  • Proficiency with BPMs, BPMN 2.0 standard and iGrafx
  • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive.
  • Welldeveloped communication skills and strong timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to work under mínimal supervision.
  • Strong project management, problem solving, collaboration and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational.
  • Experience in pipeline and gas industry would be an asset.
