Job Summary
As the Project Manager - Distribution Operations Support, you will manage key Supply Chain projects that support our Supply chain Teams across our growing Canadian Distribution Network.
Essential
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered ontime, within scope and within budget.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and longterm goals.
- Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
- Develop spreadsheets, standard operating procedures, training documents, diagrams and process maps to document needs. Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
- Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Experience within warehouse, distribution center and transportation environments.
- Familiar with different warehouse and distribution center methodologies, equipment, and technologies considered an asset.
- Experience within WMS, ERP, TMS, YMS, and WCS systems. System experience with Manhattan Associates WMS, JDA, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV considered a plus.
- Ability to make sound decisions and escalate any nonroutine decisions to leadership.
- Works well under pressure with a strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
- Problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- Advanced written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio.
- Possesses an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or in any Information Technologies (IT) discipline or equivalent experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent
- 35 years technical experience working with supply chain products including warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, order management systems and/or Enterprise Application Integration tools.
- Must be able to travel to distribution centers, as needed, including meeting federal COVID19 requirements for interprovincial flights
- Primarily Monday to Friday Days but must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, nights and weekends as required.
- Be able to work in a warehouse and office environment.
- Able & willing to travel up to 1020% of the time.
