Job Summary


As the Project Manager - Distribution Operations Support, you will manage key Supply Chain projects that support our Supply chain Teams across our growing Canadian Distribution Network.

Responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. This role will work directly with key business stakeholders to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. Coordination with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.

Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered ontime, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and longterm goals.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
  • Develop spreadsheets, standard operating procedures, training documents, diagrams and process maps to document needs. Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Competencies

  • Experience within warehouse, distribution center and transportation environments.
  • Familiar with different warehouse and distribution center methodologies, equipment, and technologies considered an asset.
  • Experience within WMS, ERP, TMS, YMS, and WCS systems. System experience with Manhattan Associates WMS, JDA, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV considered a plus.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and escalate any nonroutine decisions to leadership.
  • Works well under pressure with a strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
  • Problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Advanced written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio.
  • Possesses an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience, Education, Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or in any Information Technologies (IT) discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent
  • 35 years technical experience working with supply chain products including warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, order management systems and/or Enterprise Application Integration tools.
  • Must be able to travel to distribution centers, as needed, including meeting federal COVID19 requirements for interprovincial flights
Working Conditions

  • Primarily Monday to Friday Days but must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, nights and weekends as required.
  • Be able to work in a warehouse and office environment.
  • Able & willing to travel up to 1020% of the time.
