Support Staff Full-time Replacement Position

The Employer Engagement Coordinator provides operational support to the development of a robust employer engagement strategy to support the goals and engagement targets of the Talent Partnership Team in CCWIL.

This role is primarily responsible for the planning and coordination of various employer engagement activities and events and works to enhance the quality, capacity, and sustainability of employer engagement to promote student, graduate, alumni, and client recruitment.


Responsibilities:


Employer Engagement

  • Develops an annual employer engagement calendar of activities and markets the activities and events with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develops the annual budget for employer engagement activities and events, tracks revenue and expenses, and liaises with Financial Services to troubleshoot payment and refund issues
  • Works with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to develop marketing collateral and promote employer engagement events and activities to faculty, staff, alumni, clients and students
  • Provides employers with information about engagement opportunities, including information sessions, employer panels, program/industry specific events, job fairs, etc.
  • Develops innovative employer engagement activities and works with employers to customize events and activities to benefit employers and student/client groups
  • Coordinates virtual and oncampus engagement activities with faculty/staff, student/client groups and other stakeholders
  • Develops event plans, documents, materials, and briefing notes, ensures requisite facilities, IT, parking, catering services have been secured and confirmed for oncampus events, and coordinates virtual event setup
  • Organizes and schedules staff and volunteers to work and participate in event
  • Manages registrations and tracks participation/engagement, and identifies trends and opportunities for enhanced participation
  • Reports on event metrics and survey findings with a view of continuous improvement

Partners for Employment (P4E) Job, Career & Further Education Fairs

  • Participates in strategic and operational decisionmaking for all P4E partnership initiatives as a member of the P4E Steering Committee comprised of representatives from the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Guelph, and Conestoga College
  • Compiles Conestoga's employer invitation lists for P4E events and works with the Steering Committee to proactively address any employer issues
  • Coordinates the participation of the Conestoga Marketing team in the P4E Further Education Fair
  • Liaises with the CCWIL Marketing & Communications Coordinator to ensure marketing collateral for P4E events are developed according to the deadline
  • Coordinates logistics for in person events with the Steering Committee (i.e. proof of insurance, First Aid, busing, etc.)
  • Schedules CCWIL staff and volunteers to assist with P4E events

Job Fairs

  • Plans, coordinates,and executes job and career fairs (virtual and in person) for Conestoga students, alumni, and job seekers, including the Conestoga Job Fair and the Hospitality and Culinary Arts Job Fair
  • Develops event plans and tracks revenue and expenses
  • Ensures facilities, rentals, IT, parking/security, and catering have been secured and confirmed for on campus events; In the case of virtual events, configures event in Symplicity Virtual Career Fair platform
  • Oversees employer registration and onboarding, problem solves employer registration issues, and strategically manages employer waitlist
  • Schedules CCWIL staff for support prior to, during ,and following the event
  • Tracks student attendance for major employer events, such as job and career fairs
  • Identifies trends and opportunities for enhanced participation

Qualifications:


  • Threeyear Diploma/Degree in Public Relations, Business, Marketing, or related field of study
  • Three years of experience in event management, public relations, marketing, business, etc.
  • Demonstrated event management skills with the capacity to successfully plan, coordinate, and execute major events
  • Capacity to think strategically, creatively, and independently to build robust longterm relationships with stakeholders and employers
  • Welldeveloped relationship management skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
