Description
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science plus 7+ Years of industry experience OR 11+ years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree.
- 7+ years of experience in construction management of large, complex projects involving largescale power distribution/generation systems; mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) plants including cooling systems.
- 7+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution. Including leading preconstruction efforts. Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA 30.
- 4+ years of experience in developing, monitoring, and maintaining critical path master and micro project schedules for complex largescale mission critical projects. Including proficiency with logic ties, constraints, critical path, float, lag, WBS, successors and predecessors.
- Fully bilingual with spoken and written proficiency in English and Spanish, Portuguese, French, or other languages for working at construction job sites across United States, Canada, and Latin American countries.
The New Regions Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for managing some of the most technical, cost efficient, and fast paced construction project schedules achievable.
Amazon Construction Managers are constantly challenged to drive continuous improvement and deliver the highest quality, most technically efficient data centers in the world.
As our New Regions Data Center CM, you will be a part of a diverse, upbeat, and creative team tasked with solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers.
You will:
- Own project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for construction of new builds or general capital projects.
- Own construction project management and
- Work alongside partner teams such as Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that directly support our Customers.
- Be a leader in your specific discipline (construction management, building services, architectural, electrical or mechanical engineering).
- Represent Amazon's owner's representative on
construction trades.

Key job responsibilities
- Be Amazon's construction representative on
improvement construction project sites from
construction start through hand-off to operations.
- Direct interface with construction general
execution, punch-list, and closeout phases.
- Create construction project scope and request for
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and
accuracy.
- Manage and drive cost, schedule, and quality while
- Perform construction project management
submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, quality,
scope, and schedule.
- Drive construction teams to troubleshoot and
failures.
- Support commissioning and integrated system
- Support operations of installed facilities, including
maintenance initiatives.
- Support capital request creation.
- Analyze and report construction progress and
- Record and report key construction metrics to team
- Contribute to construction initiatives aimed at
data center resiliency.
- Travel to construction job sites across the Americas:
construction and new product delivery for AWS
Construction Management team.
- Ability to meet travel, entry & reentry
countries
- Travel required: 50%75%.
- Possess relevant passport and ability to obtain visas
