ABOUT THE ROLE


We are seeking a _
Temporary _
Mask Fit Tester for a
40-hour contract term in our long-term care home In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our workers through effective mask fit testing.

Your primary responsibilities will include engaging with workers, performing fit tests, and providing guidance on proper mask usage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete proper hand hygiene before and after attending to workers, handling consumables or touching masks.
  • Communicate with workers, ensuring they understand the importance of the fit testing process.
  • Engage with workers to understand their work area (clinical or nonclinical), the physical movements that workers undertake in their daily duties, and the length of time the mask may be work by the worker.
  • Advise workers on suitable mask options for a better fit and test results.
  • Guide workers in correctly donning respirators and adjusting straps if needed.
  • Perform comprehensive fit testing, actively seeking improvements for a 100% fit.
  • Educate workers on preventing and caring for potential skin irritation caused by respirators.
  • Issue mask fit test wallet cards to workers, documenting their test results. Ensure that workers are capable of "fit checking" their mask.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality, especially failed fit test results.
  • Respectfully communicate to the worker and advice the Mask Fit Test Administrator with regards to the failed result.
  • Facilitate the smooth flow of workers during their fit test appointments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and able to follow instructions.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively in verbal and written English.
  • Patient and empathetic in listening to others.
  • Manages, organizes, and prioritizes time and resources effectively.
  • Exhibits a professional and positive attitude.
  • Proficient computer literacy, able to use fit tester machine and enter data into an Excel spreadsheet.
