Principal Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Play a strategic role in the firm's communication strategy and lead internal and external communications initiatives, in English and French, including planning, coaching and project management:
  • Multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns;
  • News releases and other media communications; and
  • Presentations, announcements, and collateral materials
  • Project management for thought leadership and the ability to identify opportunities, support lawyers in drafting content
  • Responsible for producing engaging, clear text for different advertising channels such as websites, print ads and catalogs. researching keywords, producing interesting written content and writing clear, concise utilizing different writing styles that appeal to various target market.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to develop, package and amplify content using various channels.
  • Build and leverage relationships with the key industry and business media partners through media pitches and responds to interview requests to maximise the firm awareness and lawyers and content outreach.
  • Liaise with lawyers, provide coaching and seek opportunities for profile building including spotlights, media opportunities and repurposing news.
  • Participates in the selection and development of nominations and submissions to directories and awards.
  • Works closely with various firm stakeholders including the business development teams to develop gotomarket plans and the collection of matters description used for league tables, directories submissions and proposals.
  • Maintains and applies SE brand messaging in all communications across a wide variety of traditional and digital channels, including complying with the firm's visual brand guidelines.

Job Specifications:


Knowledge and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing or business
  • Minimum 7 years' experience: in professional services and/or law firms an asset;
  • Excellent understanding of creative, production, multimedia and project management involving multiple stakeholders; and
  • Strong experience as a marketer and written communicator across various media disciplines, particularly in digital media and public relations
  • Copywriter experience is an asset

Skills and Abilities:


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to structure thoughts and ideas and sell them
  • Creative ideation and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects and supervise and coach a team; and
  • Ability to navigate in challenging and often political landscape across multiple offices
