The Technician, Maintenance - Mechanical is accountable for supporting Production by installing, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment, including automation and robotics.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Planning and Reporting (15%)
- Prepare reports on repairs, potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions
- Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs Production (30%)
- Maintain and service machines and equipment used in the manufacturing facility
- Inspect and assess machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required for overhaul, maintenance or setup of machinery
- Interpret mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints or schematics and translate ideas accurately
- Collaborate with maintenance team to relocate or install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in the plant
- Collaborate with maintenance team to exchange technical information to facilitate teamwork in troubleshooting and repair process
- Participate in the Preventative Maintenance program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
- Problem solve line issues i.e., provide suggestions and recommendations to increase accuracy
- Determine inefficiencies and implement effective processes to increase overall line efficiency Quality Control (15%)
- Investigate, experiment and implement controls and programming changes to improve productivity and quality on an ongoing basis
- Assess operating safety devices upon completion of repairs, modifications and installations to ensure proper functioning
- Oversee required inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with Ontario Electrical Standards Act and identify any hazards or issues
- Follow health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- College Certificate or Diploma Certifications
- 443A Certificate of Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)
- Forklift Operator Training Certificate
- Aerial Lifts Training Certificate
- 3 8 years as an Industrial Millwright
- Highvolume manufacturing
- Setup and repair of automation and robotics
- Experience with trouble shooting robotics preferred
Skills:
- Computer proficiency

WORKING CONDITIONS
This role operates in a production environment; employees are exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, variable temperatures and fragrances.
