    About the Role

  • Oversee security personnel operations while maintaining flexible work hours in a work environment ensuring fluid operations for the Central Alarm Monitoring Station (CAMS) and the Durham RSC site.
  • Supervise the services provided by LCBO Facilities Protection Officers (Bargaining Unit) in a 24-7 operation, ensuring training, development, counselling and motivation, conduct performance reviews, identify discipline issues and take disciplinary action, handle grievances, apply the collective agreement as required, maintain attendance and overtime records, occurrence reports, shift and vacation schedules, reviews, maintenance of daily security logs, and ensure the reporting of incidents electronically through the Incident Reporting System.
  • Monitor and maintain daily security operations meeting the needs of the facility and ensure safe and secure work environment for all who attend the site.
  • Oversee the delivery of contracted security guard services for Durham RSC and support the manager in providing contracted services at all RSCs and DCs, ensuring contract compliance, daily reporting, post order compliance, and maintenance of site safety and security policies.
  • Oversee the monitoring all alarm systems, security, and equipment through the use of panels, passwords, printouts and manual shunts, CCTV etc. and develop proficiency in the daily operations.
  • Screening all visitors and callers and relaying general information to appropriate departments. Ensure all visitors are provided with required identification tags.
  • About You

  • Post-Secondary Certificate in Security Administration/Police Foundations or equivalent.
  • 5 years' experience in public or private Security industry in a logistics environment.
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation including the C.C.C., Trespass to Property Act, OHSA.
  • Knowledge of Logistics business and the Regulatory Environment, understanding of resource protection measures, distribution security and premises protection.
  • Solid knowledge of Use of Force principals, privacy legislation, Criminal code, Provincial statues, superior verbal, and written communications.
  • Supervision of staff in a unionized environment and a sound understanding of labour relations
  • CAMS – monitoring station operations.
  • Experience using computers and software including MS Word, Outlook, and computer data entry.
  • Familiarity with Security Monitoring Equipment such as CCTV and alarm panels
  • First Aid and CPR – Valid certification
