Why is this role important?

  • The Program Lead will support CIHI's Ontario PROMs program of work, which focuses on advancing the operations of PROMs for hip and knee replacements, including data submission, analysis and reporting. Responsibilities include supporting key provincial program partners, producing major deliverables on schedule, managing stakeholder relations with hospitals and clinical experts, maintaining data collection standards, data submission and management, as well as the advancing reports to be used at the province and facility levels. In addition, this position will provide expertise to the ministry to support advancement of PROMs collection used for Ontario Health Teams and hospital engagement on facilitylevel reports.
  • What you'll do
  • Lead activities to maintain PROMs standards in collection and reporting for hip and knee replacements that support health system monitoring. This includes leading research and environmental scans, and participation in stakeholder and expert consultations. Lead the development of analytical methodologies and measures that support the ability to compare PROMs across hospitals/regions.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff. Supervises, coaches, coordinates and monitors work, workload and performance of staff to ensure that quality is maintained and that learning opportunities are provided. Conducts annual performance management reviews.
  • Lead data submission and preparation activities for PROMs, working with external data providers, ensuring timely receipt of the data, monitoring submissions and addressing data quality issues.
  • Lead quarterly data cuts and reports at the province level, and facilitylevel reports for participating hospitals.
  • Responsible for the production of quarterly and ad hoc reports for PROMs. This includes leading enhancement and development of standardized reports. Preparing and delivering presentations related to these reports.
  • Lead the management of external (and internal) stakeholder meetings, ensuring the development of premeeting materials that support the execution of the project according to key milestones.
  • Develops and maintains a detailed knowledge of hip and knee replacement PROMs, the Canadian Joint Replacement Registry (CJRR), and knowledge of databases used by the Ontario PROMs Program such as the Discharge Abstract Database (DAD) and the National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS).
  • Leads and contributes to the content development of implementation support guides, promotional materials as needed.
  • Lead CIHI representation at operational meetings with provincial program partners. Participates and supports expert advisory committee meetings and expert working groups.
  • Promotes the program and CIHI at conferences and other external venues.
What you'll bring to the table

  • Graduate degree or equivalent combination of experience/education in health sciences, social sciences, administration or a similarly relevant field.
  • Minimum of five years of project management, stakeholder management, and experience with healthrelated data collection/reporting.
  • 13 years of supervisory experience, with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Knowledge and experience with health data collection and reporting, with emphasis on health system performance and monitoring.
  • Sound knowledge of health information and its uses for policy development, planning, management and evaluation purposes.
  • Sound knowledge of the Canadian health care system.
