Description

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Associate Director of Care collaborates with the Director of Care on the development of nursing philosophy, purpose statements for nursing services, goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and nursing function descriptions.



Key Responsibilities:

  • To collaborate with the Executive Director in selecting, orienting, and monitoring departmental and program managers
  • To plan, direct, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate resident care services
  • To align resident care services with community needs
  • To oversee financial and human resource management of the Nursing department
  • To maintain nursing department standards in line with regulations and professional expectations
  • To liaise with hospital, medical staff, community, and healthcare partners for effective care delivery
  • To recruit, manage, evaluate, and support care staff
  • To ensure quality care and a safe work environment
  • To manage Nursing Department supplies and equipment responsibly
  • To collaborate on Infection Control issues and monitoring activities
  • To assume Director of Care responsibilities in their absence
  • To promote Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles
  • To drive resident satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives
  • To work ethically and with integrity following the organization's values and philosophy
  • To perform other assigned duties

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse in long-term care
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a managerial/supervisory role in healthcare
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Provincial licensing body
  • Bachelor or Master of Nursing preferred
  • Current CPR designation required
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (including Criminal Background Check) within six months required
  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
