Description

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Associate Director of Care collaborates with the Director of Care on the development of nursing philosophy, purpose statements for nursing services, goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and nursing function descriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

To collaborate with the Executive Director in selecting, orienting, and monitoring departmental and program managers
To plan, direct, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate resident care services
To align resident care services with community needs
To oversee financial and human resource management of the Nursing department
To maintain nursing department standards in line with regulations and professional expectations
To liaise with hospital, medical staff, community, and healthcare partners for effective care delivery
To recruit, manage, evaluate, and support care staff
To ensure quality care and a safe work environment
To manage Nursing Department supplies and equipment responsibly
To collaborate on Infection Control issues and monitoring activities
To assume Director of Care responsibilities in their absence
To promote Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles
To drive resident satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives
To work ethically and with integrity following the organization's values and philosophy
To perform other assigned duties

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse in long-term care
Minimum 3 years experience in a managerial/supervisory role in healthcare
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Provincial licensing body
Bachelor or Master of Nursing preferred
Current CPR designation required
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Vulnerable Sector Check (including Criminal Background Check) within six months required
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
