Pension Assistant - Mississauga, Canada - People Corporation
Description
We are seeking a Pension Assistant to join our BPA team in Mississauga.A Pension Assistant works in a team environment and assists with the ongoing administration of their client's pension plans.
The Pension Assistant will:
- Perform clerical work for team, including organizing/logging mail, filing, finalizing of member documents.
- Assists in the preparation of basic pension entitlement calculations and paperwork.
- Investigate and respond to member inquiries.
- Maintain uptodate records for members and client.
- Monitor custodian financial statements and participate in reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of client administration reports.
- Participate in other duties and projects, as assigned.
- Reports directly to Team Supervisor/Pension Administration Manager.
- Works cooperatively as a member of the Pension Department to provide superior customer service to all pension clients.
- Receives guidance and direction from other team members.
- Coordinates with Pension Fund Custodian, Plan Actuaries, Plan Auditors, Lawyers, Unions, Employers and other thirdparty representatives, as required.
- Deals directly with Plan participants/members, spouses and beneficiaries regarding pension entitlements and Plan information.
- Works cooperatively with coworkers in other administrative departments at BPA (benefits, disability, etc.).
To be successful as a Pension Assistant with BPA, you will need**:
- Excellent and proven organization skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral.
- Excellent work ethic and accountability.
- Intermediate MS Excel skills (formatting, build/interpret pension calculators, data analysis functions).
- Intermediate to Expert MS Word skills (formatting, word merge and conditional wording).
