Role Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Executive Director - Corporate Planning and Governance, the Priority Issues Coordinator (PIC) works collaboratively with the Branch Leadership Team and staff to coordinate and provide timely correspondence on critical and emerging issues.

You will triage all incoming Action Requests, determine the nature of their priority, and assign them in a timely manner.

You will use your strong writing/editing skills to review all priority branch materials.

You will provide confidential support services relating to issues management, ARTS administration and operational matters relative to branch planning and priority coordination.

You will track and respond to issues, often under tight timelines; create, coordinate, and manage action requests,briefing notes and communications.

You will coordinate and ensure timely delivery of cross divisional materials such as the Ministry Business Plan and Annual Report and Executive agendas.

You will play a critical role in establishing, implementing, integrating, and monitoring effective business and communication processes.

You will work under high pressure situations to provide timely and accurate advice on current and emerging issues and ensure information is disseminated to the affected program areas in an efficient and effective manner.

Qualifications:


  • University graduation in Communications, Environmental Studies/Sciences, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field supplemented by a minimum of two years directly related experience in issues management and corporate services is required.

Equivalencies will be considered.

Equivalency:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year education.

Assets

  • Previous leadership, supervisory, and project management experience.
  • Expertise in verbal and written communication.

This position is a full-time permanent opportunity and is located in Edmonton. Alternate work locations within the Province will not be considered.

This position works Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM-4:30 PM, 36.25 hours a week.
