Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview:


Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting and in accordance with approved policies and procedures, the incumbent will be responsible for daily banking duties and bank reconciliations; maintaining, analyzing and reconciling General Ledger accounts and following up on any discrepancies or errors and processing corrections as necessary.

The incumbent will also process and post journal entries and be responsible for running reports to reconcile and process payroll related and/or government remittances and meeting deadlines inherent therein.

Additional responsibilities include tracking and processing program reimbursements and preparing related monthly and quarterly reports.


Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years experience within the last five years in a computerized accounting environment required, preferably within a healthcare environment.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Completion of high school education, Manitoba standards required.
  • Intermediate standing in a recognized accounting program required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access) required.
  • Must be very organized and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of General Accounting concepts and account coding required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written) in the English language.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to recognize and investigate problems quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and complete work in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to interact well with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
