Vancouver, BC . You will play a key role in a wide variety of geotechnical and geo-structural engineering projects. Services will include planning, design and supporting the coordination, management and delivery of geotechnical/geo-structural engineering projects.
You will also carry out various tasks and design functions such as desktop studies, geological/geotechnical investigations, geo-structural analyses, liquefaction assessments, detailed designs, technical reporting and technical construction support services.
Responsibilities:
- Design, plan and manage geotechnical investigations, site inspections and assessments, perform geohazard assessments in the field and preparation of technical logs and field reports
- Assisting senior staff with engineering analysis, design and reporting
- Assist senior staff with managing construction support fieldwork including geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and geotechnical advice during construction.
- Assisting the geotechnical team in development of proposals, work plans and cost estimates
- Coordination and management of geotechnical projects involving ground improvement, deep foundations, excavation and shoring, slope stabilization, groundwater management and other advanced geotechnical/geostructural projects.
Requirements:
- University degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Sciences
- Eligible to Register as an Engineer in Training in BC
- Minimum 18 months of relevant experience in the field of engineering geology or geotechnical engineering
- Strong organization, planning, report writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in extended hours and travel within BC and AB
- Strong knowledge of drilling, in situ testing geotechnical instrumentation, geophysical survey and materials testing is preferred.
- A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
- Knowledge of working with relevant software such as MS Office and Engineering software including GINT, AUTOCAD and Bluebeam, etc.
