As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles.


The GO Expansion scope :

new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Objective

Alstom is seeking a Low Voltage (LV) Utility Project Coordinator. This individual will be responsible to coordinate the LV supply needs for the project.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate LV supply delivery based on internal stakeholders needs
  • Gather the electrical needs (power requirement, location etc) in interface with Signaling team
  • Coordinate design production (calculation notes, layouts) and submission based on utility requirements
  • Coordinate requests for permits and licenses based on project needs
  • Coordinate the construction subcontractors based on LV supply need
  • Propose any value for money optimization
  • Coordination of LV needs, from initial request to Toronto Utilities companies until commissioning of the installed system
  • Definition of required subcontractors, from initial definition of scope of works until closure of installation works (including commissioning phase)
  • Installation interface with Utilities, Customer and partners to provide support to POS Subsystem,
  • Subcontractors and suppliers Installation teams coordination,
  • Participation to Gate Reviews when required, part of the DFQ process,
  • Preparation and follow up of all correspondences (letters, minutes of meetings, submittals ) related to POS LV installation activities,
  • Definition of technical criteria and technical evaluation of subcontractors/suppliers,
  • Bill of Quantities (BOQ) review and update,
  • Participate in collecting REX on POS installation
  • Review and getting approval of design deliverables and reply to comments.
Reporting

  • The position reports hierarchically to _the Head of Construction for POS (Power Supply).
  • Engineering: Central Engineering and Transverse Engineering team
  • Project: Project management team,
  • Site: Construction management team,
  • Customer, Consultants, External stakeholders,
  • O&M and Civil Works partners,
  • Energy provider Hydro One (HONI) + IESO, other Utility companies
  • Interfacing subsystems (O&M, Trackwork, OCS, Signalling, Civil works)
  • Regional Engineering Centers.
Performance Measurements

  • Ontime delivering: 100%
  • Respect of Design For Quality (DFQ) milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of their Metier
  • Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%
  • The quality of the works performed
Educational Requirements


Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering

Asset:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Professional Engineer designation as per Ontario regulations or in progress
Experience

  • A minimum of twothree years of experience in Electrical Utility Installation,
  • A first experience in a Utility company is preferred,
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and installation engineering,
  • Strong knowledge of ESA rules, Canada Electrical standards and common practices,
  • Autonomy, motivated, initiative, team spirit,
  • Fluent in English, second language appreciated
