Egan Fife Animal Hospital, in Chatham, ON is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Veterinarian to join our dynamic hospital.

We are a full service, companion animal hospital with a team approach to medicine. We have a strong support staff and focus on treating each pet like they are our own.

We are fortunate to be staffed with dedicated, tenured doctors with 50+ years experience, who are devoted to providing high-quality mentorship with a focus on individualized support and development for recent graduates.

Our facility is designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as our pets age; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during the lifetime of all patients.

We place great value on providing a stable work/life balance for our employees. We are open Mon-Friday with no weekends or on call. All experience levels welcome to apply

Job Responsibilities

  • Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
  • Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
  • Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept uptodate through established protocols
  • Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
  • Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
  • Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
Skills and Basic Qualifications

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in good standing to practice in Ontario.
  • Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
  • Any experience level is encouraged to apply
