Job Summary:

We are looking for an organized and driven individual to join our Transportation & Fleet team.

In this role, you will receive required information from customers regarding the pickup of material and communicate the information to the dispatch department.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure customers have an exceptional experience
  • Generate a run based on internal and external request
  • Review information on generated runs for accuracy
  • For same day requests, communicate with dispatch prior to confirming with customers
  • Contact customers with any changes or delays expected with material pickups as requested by dispatch
  • Respond to drivers who are presented with concerns at customer site
  • Provide and or coordinate resolutions with customers regarding concerns or complaints
  • Follow up with customers to ensure that resolution was satisfactory
  • Build credibility with customers
  • Liaise with external carriers to set up requests
  • Populate and maintain holiday schedules for customers/consumers to ensure efficiency in the team
  • Ensure we get tickets from external carriers and pass along to admin team for entry
  • Entering misc. transportation/maintenance charges
  • Keep relevant work instructions up to date with any changes
  • Assist with dispatch tasks
  • Maintain current external carrier rates that are relevant to runs being generated
  • Populate runs being created with applicable rate
  • Close runs when required ensuring times and rates are accurate
  • Assist with administration of bin tracking program and liaise with traders and dispatch to resolve any concerns
  • Assist transportation department with miscellaneous clerical tasks as requested
  • Prepare reports as requested
  • Back up Administrator
  • Any additional tasks as requested

Qualifications:


  • High School Graduate
  • Post secondary education is an asset
  • Previous experience in customer service or administration is an asset
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Intermediate computer skills with MS Word and Excel
  • Accurate keyboarding skills
  • Organized, detail oriented
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability and desire to learn
