What you'll do
As a fulltime faculty member, you will be expected to:
teach a variety of undergraduate social/cultural anthropology courses

- participate in curriculum development
- contribute to the collegial functioning of the department, the School of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Arts & Sciences, and the University as a whole

CapU is currently undergoing an exciting phase of growth, with new BA and BSc programs being offered or under development across the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

What you'll bring

Demonstrated excellence in postsecondary teaching in Anthropology, preferably including introductory and lowerlevel courses
Specialization in one or more of the following areas an asset: linguistic anthropology; anthropology of art/music/expressive culture; religion; gender; ethnicity/identity; food; environment
Competence to teach courses focussed on First Nations / Indigenous peoples and cultures is an asset
Commitment to decolonizing practices
Collegial attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty in Anthropology and other departments
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development (new courses, programs)
Desire to build a career at a teachingfocussed, primarily undergraduate universityApplicants who are invited to interview will be asked to prepare a short teaching demo as well as provide at least one sample syllabus.
