Academy of Learning Career College (AOLCC)
Academy of Learning Career College is responsible for providing a welcoming environment in which adult learners may engage in independent learning activities.
_Shift time: 1pm to 9pm (weekend flexibility is required))_
_The Learning Coach will be required to visit our Brampton East campus once or twice a week as per business requirements._
Responsibilities
- Providing guidance to adult learners as they progress through selfdirected courses
- Becoming familiar with the courses yourself you are not an instructor, but you must gain an understanding of course content in order to assist learners through the content
- Performing administrative duties, such as ordering materials, entering student data, generating reports, welcoming visitors, answering telephones, corresponding with various parties, monitoring student attendance, and handling student records
- Creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere for learners
- Distributing Practical Exams as required
- Set up and Proctor exams
- Coaching adult learners on exam preparation and good study habits
- Preparing soontobe graduates for the realities of reentering the workforce once they complete their studies
Qualifications
- A University Degree or College Diploma from a recognized Canadian institution (international qualifications may be considered equivalent)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Willingness to learn and quickly acquire the Academy of Learning Facilitator Certification by successfully completing all required exams within a specified timeframe
- Passion for education
The following qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Experience working with adults in an educational environment
- Experience working in a Private Career College or other education environment, preferably as a teaching assistant or facilitator
