Kenvue is currently recruiting for Automation Technician - Afternoons. This position is based at Guelph, Ontario and works an afternoon shift of 3pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday.**

What will you do
The Automation Technician will work in conjunction with the manufacturing teams, by providing day-to-day Automation, electrical, PLC and technical support.
They will complete continuous improvement projects within the processing and packaging departments as well as the facility and will often partner with various departments to accomplish assigned objectives.
Responsibilities

The Maintenance team members operate in and assure that other team members and contractors follow and align with all company safety policies and practices including all protective equipment.
We Identify and report unsafe conditions/ near misses and accidents timely while ensuring that equipment is always maintained for safe operation.
Leadership
The Technician Identifies opportunities for improvement including training new team members for cross functionality.
They will autonomously under the mentorship of the Maintenance Supervisor, Planner or Reliability Engineer and be encouraged to make independent judgments and recommendations relating to resources requiring little guidance in execution.
We will take initiative to assist others readily and frequently as required.We will build Interdependent relationships to achieve department objectives and improvements while adopting a behaviour of employee involvement and dedication to doing the job right the first time.
Key Responsibilities
The Automation Technicians will assist Technical Operators and Setup Technicians, Maintenance Technicians and Engineering with the identifying and correcting all Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic problems with production equipment.
We will support instructing, guiding, and advising the activities of new and existing technicians within the team to demonstrate our combined technical abilities.
Our technicians actively participate in Company training programs and events to maintain knowledge and understanding of our processes and procedures.
As a team we complete maintenance requests, and assignments according with the applicable SOP. We monitor and maintain/ repair production equipment within the facility.Our technicians are encouraged to gain Proficient knowledge of setup and operation of the production equipment while performing their responsibilities.
The Technician will work to achieve a high standard of accuracy and completion of critical activities such as but not limited to PM, Documentation completion, 5S, Safety, CMMS, Calibrations, Continuous improvement, and clear communication.
We implement the PM and Cal daily as per schedule and implement the schedule as planned.We use resources such as electrical and mechanical drawings in diagnosing equipment problems and for ordering replacement parts efficiently and effectively while finding opportunities for improvements.
Multi-functionally we assist with calls for support from others (e.g., Production, Engineering) in a timely fashion to maintain high efficiency levels and collaboration.
As technically skilled individuals we require mínimal supervision/ direction from Leadership in resolving or prioritizing issues.Qualifications:
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Automation & PLC certification
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required, preferably in regulated manufacturing environment with an emphasis on automation
- Capable of using electrical equipment to diagnose electrical issues
- Good mechanical proficiency and ambition to learn mechanical principals
- Good documentation practices
- Digital literacy (Ability to learn Apps and Software required)
Desired Qualifications
- An Industrial Electrician License 309A/442A or Electrical/Electronic Technologist or Electrical Engineer diploma is a preferred asset
- Experience with programming in Rslogix, Micro Logics, Omron and Elau is highly preferred
