Employment Status:
Full-Time (40 hours/week)


Anishnabeg Outreach is an award winning dynamic and innovative nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through various programs and initiatives.

We have two centres of healing, a 10-acre farm, and a virtual learning management system called the AONest which delivers reconciliation, early years and senior years support, employment, and self-directed mental health support.

We are committed to fostering growth, development, and positive change in the lives of those we serve. We partner with reserves, friendship centres, agencies, shelters, and some of Canada's best-known companies. We also are committed to staff development and making the world a better place.

As we expand our reach and impact from regional to provincial and national, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Support Worker to join our team and assist in the successful implementation of various programs and services.

Scope:


Responsibilities:


  • Program Assistance:
  • Provide essential support to program facilitators and managers in planning and organizing various program activities and events.
  • Assist with logistics, including scheduling meetings, and coordinating necessary resources for program implementation.
  • Participate in program planning meetings and contribute innovative ideas to enhance program effectiveness and impact.
  • Help maintain program documentation, records, and data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Participant Support:
  • Act as a liaison between program participants and facilitators, addressing inquiries, providing information, and offering support.
  • Assist in participant recruitment efforts by distributing program information within the community and encouraging engagement.
  • Facilitate workshops, events, and activities, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, maintaining program files, and handling correspondence.
  • Help with budget tracking, expense reconciliation, and grant reporting to ensure financial compliance and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of program expenses, participant attendance, and outcomes.
  • Program Evaluation:
  • Support program evaluation efforts by collecting and analyzing data to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to preparing evaluation reports and presenting findings to the executive team.

Qualifications:


  • College or postsecondary education in social work, community development, or a related field is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and traditions, with a strong commitment to cultural preservation and empowerment.
  • Previous experience in program support, community outreach, or customer service roles is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups of people in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
