Based in Sudbury, the Survey Crew Chief will report to the Discipline Manager, Transportation Surveys, and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on supporting construction and infrastructure development in Southern Ontario.

You will be part of a team that provides a full range of traditional surveying services as well as construction monitoring, precision layout, and high-definition 3D laser scanning.

What You'll Do:

The Survey Crew Chief will be part of the TULLOCH Geomatics team

You will:

Have a strong understanding of design documents and basic layout calculations on the fly
Perform highprecision surveys such as: industrial layout, deformation monitoring, levelling, and static control network surveys
Collect field data using traditional survey instruments such as total station and high precision levels as well as GPS field equipment
Oversee QC of data collection ensuring that field notes and daily downloads are complete
Collect terrestrial scanning data or have an aptitude and willingness to learn this
Interact with clients while onsite
Mentor and train new field staff
Have opportunities to work on proposals, reports, and producing deliverables

Who You Are:

You have at least five (5) years of practical related work experience
You are proficient in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Trimble survey equipment or similar
You are comfortable with static control surveys, highprecision layout work, and 1st order levelling techniques (or are willing and able to learn)
You are willing to travel frequently for site inspections and fieldwork
You work hard, have an innovative attitude, and are adamant about honing your technical skillset
You make decisions/exercises independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives
You can pivot and alter approach or recommendations to accomplish desired results
