Based in Sudbury, the Survey Crew Chief will report to the Discipline Manager, Transportation Surveys, and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on supporting construction and infrastructure development in Southern Ontario.
You will be part of a team that provides a full range of traditional surveying services as well as construction monitoring, precision layout, and high-definition 3D laser scanning.
What You'll Do:
The Survey Crew Chief will be part of the TULLOCH Geomatics team
You will:
- Have a strong understanding of design documents and basic layout calculations on the fly
- Perform highprecision surveys such as: industrial layout, deformation monitoring, levelling, and static control network surveys
- Collect field data using traditional survey instruments such as total station and high precision levels as well as GPS field equipment
- Oversee QC of data collection ensuring that field notes and daily downloads are complete
- Collect terrestrial scanning data or have an aptitude and willingness to learn this
- Interact with clients while onsite
- Mentor and train new field staff
- Have opportunities to work on proposals, reports, and producing deliverables

Who You Are:
- You have at least five (5) years of practical related work experience
- You are proficient in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Trimble survey equipment or similar
- You are comfortable with static control surveys, highprecision layout work, and 1st order levelling techniques (or are willing and able to learn)
- You are willing to travel frequently for site inspections and fieldwork
- You work hard, have an innovative attitude, and are adamant about honing your technical skillset
- You make decisions/exercises independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives
- You can pivot and alter approach or recommendations to accomplish desired results

- A valid, Class G driver's licence
