Job Overview


Reporting to the Executive Chef, this person will supervise food production personnel, assist with food production tasks as needed and assure that quality and cost standards are consistently attained.

Specific duties would include, but are not limited to:


  • Execute, guide, and assist in all preparation of line mise en place and production.
  • Assist with supervision and training of employees, sanitation and safety, menu planning, and related production activities.
  • Assist in food procurement, delivery, storage, and issuing of food items.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the kitchen including equipment, food, and supply inventories.
  • Consistently maintain standards of quality, cost, eye appeal/presentation, and flavor of foods.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a highvolume kitchen
  • Red Seal Certification is preferred and Food Handler Certification
  • Knowledge of Labour Cost Control and Food Cost Control
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Experience in a private club or similar environment is an asset
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
