This role sits within Laurentian Bank.


The position incumbent will have the mandate to support the sales force in the analysis of the accounts of is line of business, and this, by ensuring the management of the credit risk, the annual review of the files, their renewal and the follow-up with clients and the various external and internal stakeholders of the Bank.

In addition, he will have under his supervision the portfolio managers.

The Manager, Portfolio Management will have more specifically the mandate to manage everything that encompasses the management of the portfolio of its line of business.

Responsibilities:

o Supervise the preparation of renewal offers and perform quality assurance.


o Ensure the proper development of operations in his sector and be responsible for prioritizing the assignment of files and tasks to members of his team.


o Manage the employees under his responsibility in accordance with the legislation in force, with the policies, programs, procedures, evaluate their performance and ensure the development of their potential, be responsible for the decisions of recruitment / dismissal and the salary management of the employees.

o Ensure good communication between the various stakeholders involved in the processes under management.

o Maintains good relations with current clients and offers them personalized service.

o Participate in monthly meetings with the credit sector and identify irregular, late and at-risk accounts within its portfolio.

Communicate the information to the directors, business development and determine a strategy and the measures to be taken to remedy the situation and manage the risk appropriately.

o Train, assist and supervise portfolio managers and trainees in the course of their duties.

o Manage special projects within its mandate.

o Identify and optimize business development and cross-selling opportunities.

o Complete reports requested by management.


o Accomplish any other task of the same nature or of a general nature requested by his superior or required within the framework of his functions.


Qualifications:

o University education in an appropriate field and 3 to 5 years of experience in a portfolio manager role or role related field;
o Ability in financial analysis and sharp critical thinking

o Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to provide feedback and coaching;
o Good management of priorities;
o Ability to communicate with senior leaders;
o Good knowledge of how commercial financing works;
o Rigor and ability to organize work efficiently;
o Have a sense of responsibility;
o Ability to manage stress and tight deadlines;

o Good knowledge of software:
Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and Power point;

o Bilingualism*:
French and English
