Job Summary


As a member of the Settlements & Reconciliation team, you will play an integral role in supporting successful trade clearing and settlements for our Advisors and Institutional Trading team.

As a Settlements Associate, you are a critical part of the process that ensures the smooth execution of securities transactions.

This opportunity to work with leaders in the industry will help you to gain exposure in the world of processing and settlement of client Equity, Options, and Fixed Income trades in Canada, the US and other Foreign Markets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Equity, Options, and Fixed Income trade settlements;
  • Work with the Trading groups and external counterparties such as other broker / dealers and custodians to resolve and understand settlement disputes, avoiding potential buyin scenarios faced by the firm;
  • Resolve reconciliation outages through effective problem solving;
  • Analyze current settlement processes and make recommendations to increase efficiency;
  • Collaborate with your team members; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of

  • Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry and/or trading.

Skill in

  • Absorbing and utilizing new information.

Ability to

  • Work within deadlines in a highvolume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and an imperative attention to detail;
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Demonstrate a professional manner to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization;
  • Exercise tact and discretion in the handling of confidential information; and
  • Communicate proficiently in French is an asset.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Postsecondary education; and
  • A minimum of 2 years of financial industry or related administrative experience.
