About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of Health Information Services, the Emergency Registration Clerk is responsible for the registration of Emergency patients in an accurate, efficient and courteous manner.
Other duties of the admitting clerk include:
- Responsible for obtaining and accurately updating client information at time of registration, including demographic and provider information
- Completes daily registration checks, to ensure data integrity is being maintained at all times
- Ensures data integrity is maintained within the Meditech system in accordance with provincial standards
- Responsible to perform day to day activities within Health Information Services as required
- Responsible to perform other related duties as assigned
About You:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 plus successful completion of a one year secretarial or business program, or 1 year recent clerical/secretarial experience required
- Graduate from an approved Medical Terminology course is required
- Proficient keyboarding skills with clear demonstrated knowledge of Windows
- Good interpersonal and communication skills a high degree of tact, judgment, and confidentiality
- Computer training on software programs such as Microsoft Word, Windows, Internet, Microsoft Outlook and meditech systems required; computer experience is required
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills are required; must be an effective team player
- Current WHMIS certification required
- Recent NVCI training / certification considered an asset
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours:
- Permanent, Fulltime Position; 70 Hours Biweekly
- Ability to work holidays, days, evenings, nights and weekends
Compensation and Incentives:
$ $21.90 hourly
