- The Enterprise Non Trading Market Risk (ENTMR, formerly known as EMRC-NTMR) team is part of the dynamic Market Risk team. As second line of defense, The Market Risk team is responsible for providing independent oversight and challenge of the Bank's trading risks, nontrading market risk and liquidity risk.
- ENTMR's mandate includes:
- Developing a strategic and respected team that understands the business and regulations
- Influencing business solutions to ensure risk views are incorporated in planning and execution
- Proactively identify and assess relevant emerging risks and industry standards
- Developing and maintaining risk frameworks where limits are respected and consistent with the Bank's risk appetite
- Providing oversight of risk within the Bank, ensuring all significant risks and results are appropriately measured and made transparent to the CRO TDBG, Senior Management, and the Risk Committee of the Board
- Providing effective challenge through an integrated view of risk
- Maintaining and continuing to develop an effective relationship with regulators to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements while proactively addressing regulatory expectations
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Enterprise Non-Trading Market Risk, the accountabilities of the Risk Manager role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing in depth technical leadership and expertise in the oversight and challenge of nontrading market risk across the Enterprise (Retail Bank and Wholesale Bank)
- Keeping uptodate on emerging issues and evolving regulatory requirements to develop and review Nontrading Market Risk policies and frameworks
- Building a maintaining strong relationships with key Business Partners and represent ENTMR in various forums and committees.
- Key contact for valuation issues including Independent Price Verification (IPV) and trade pricing
- Providing oversight and thought leadership to key assumptions through expertise and highly specialized knowledge of analytical concepts and techniques
- Leading key initiatives including Framework/Policy reviews, second line NTMR measurement oversight, NTMR related assumption reviews, and of NTMR stress testing framework
- Understanding the requirements of the new Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) standards and their implication to the Bank
- Proactively build awareness of key risk issues by educating business leaders and providing training to the team
- Understand and comply with TD policies, regulatory, and compliance requirements
