Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the leadership and oversight of Student Life including strategic and program planning, people leadership, financial management, stakeholder relationship management, and operations.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

Knowledge of leadership practices related to planning, policy development, financial management, program development/evaluation, performance and risk management, project management, contract management, customer service, and human resources
Knowledge of issues, trends, and challenges related to Carleton and the university sector with an expertise in student affairs and student life
Knowledge of contemporary best practices in Student Affairs and Student Life/Experience
Knowledge of the governing legislation
Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity
Knowledge is deployed for purposes of solving complex and interrelated student success issues that require the development of strategies, programs and services

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

Master's degree
Minimum of seven years progressive experience
Minimum of five years in management and leadership roles
