Department Overview
The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD Bank's Canadian and US P&C: non-trading market risk, consolidated liquidity risk and consolidated capital position.

The Investments Strategy and Analytics (S&A) team is accountable for delivering on the Front Office and Investments (FOI) initiatives, including the addition of new asset classes to the portfolio as well as new capabilities.
The Investments S&A team develops and maintains investment portfolio reporting and analytics to measure and highlight the enterprise investment portfolio performance, financial impacts and trends.
The Investments S&A team collaborates with the Front Office team in developing the Investment portfolio plan and delivery of that plan.
- The Manager is accountable for analysis and strategy for the Enterprise Investment Portfolio as well as executing on team projects and initiatives. The Manager will work across multiple stakeholders including Treasury, Finance, Risk and Technology to enhance the capabilities and improve the performance of the Bank's Enterprise Investment Portfolio.
- Primary responsibilities of the Manager, Investment Strategy & Analytics include:
Partner with the segment investment management teams to provide value added advice
Analyze, support and deliver on key Enterprise Investment Portfolio (EIP) initiatives in a
continued effort to reposition the portfolio for changing regulatory, balance sheet and
- relative value challenges.-
Enhance and maintain robust, scalable, and well-documented processes.
Forecasting and Strategy
- Lead the forecasting and planning mandate for the EIP, working with Front Office to determine investment plan, strategic initiatives for the year and associated Net Interest Income and Capital impacts. Effective challenge and identify the risk and opportunities for the EIP Plan.
- Partner with TBSM stakeholders including liquidity, TBSM Credit, ALM and Finance business partners to provide value added advice and analysis on the EIP.
- Assist as lineofbusiness representative for stress testing forecasts including assisting with enterprise stress testing for certain portfolios within the EIP.
- Execute on team initiatives to increase team capabilities.
Analytics and Advisory
- Maintain, develop and enhance reporting and analytics to explain the performance of the EIP, key drivers of performance and impacts to income, capital and balance sheet management.
- Assist in analysis of the investment portfolio in support of senior executive presentations and ad hoc requests.
- Provide comparisons of the banks actual performance to plan/forecasts including drivers of over and under performance.
- Perform peer analysis to provide insight into the competitive landscape and performance.
- Maintain robust, scalable, and welldocumented processes
- Lead the Front Office and Investments team quarterly EIP IFRS9 attestation
Job Requirements
Specific Educational Requirements:
- Postsecondary degree
- MBA, CFA considered assets
Qualifications:
Expertise in:
- Principles of asset/liability management, capital markets, and how Treasury delivers value
- Bank Investment Portfolios and related products held in the portfolios
- TBSM processes and how they interconnect
- Bank income statements and financial reporting
- Accounting for investment products including hedge accounting
- Owning and delivering large scale projects
- Managing multiple complex projects concurrently
Competencies and Personal Qualities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to simplify and present complex concepts and business results in terms understandable by audiences with varied backgrounds including senior bank executives and risk partners
- Able to develop and foster a positive working relationship with partners and project stakeholders
