We are currently engaged in a search for a motivated Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Systems Manager ideally based out of either our Saskatoon or Nisku offices.


Position Summary:

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Systems Manager will report to the Director of HSE.

In this position, you will provide technical leadership and support to ensure that Procon's H&S Management System requirements are fully implemented within Western Canada operations.


By partnering with Regional HSE Managers and project management team members, you will provide guidance, direction, and advice related to the Procon HSE Management System (HSEMS).

This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and auditing of Procon's HSEMS.


Responsibilities:


  • Advocate for and champion the ongoing digital transition of Procon's HSEMS.
  • Develop and revise standards, policies, procedures, forms, corporate and employee handbooks.
  • Responsible for management and retention of all HSE documents including tracking, review, and revision.
  • Compile, analyze and present HSE data analytics.
  • Provide technical, strategic and administrative support to Regional HSE Managers related to HSE systems and processes.
  • Coordinate COR (Certificate of Recognition) Audit services including scheduling, compiling documentation, and facilitating audits.
  • Assist in developing Project Safety Management Plans.
  • Develop and support safety training programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in ProconSAFE safety consulting services.
  • Assist with the deployment and success of Procon's New Miner Program.
  • Develop and deliver informational safety communications via safety shares and website.
  • Participate in claims management and return to work cases.
  • Create and maintain contractor safety databases (e.g., ISNet World, etc.)
  • Provide coverage for the corporate safety team members, as required.
  • Provide change management services to internal stakeholders.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Diploma/Certificate in OHS or related discipline.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years of technical experience in a similar role.
  • Experience using Microsoft PowerApps and Power BI, or equivalent is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement and sustain safety management systems and training programs.
  • Proven ability to manage, influence, develop and coach internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing process improvement and system optimization strategies to deliver organizational efficiency.
  • Ability to present technical information in a manner consumable by all levels in the Organization.
  • Ability to cultivate effective professional relationships.
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate time management skills.
  • Ability to process information and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to plan own work and demonstrate time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel including to remote job site locations.
