The opportunity


This position will be responsible for the coordination of all children's Acquired, Pre-buy and Co-production programs and program assets for broadcast and digital distribution.

This involves receiving and delivering shows and working closely with the Kids programming team to build and manage systems to help us organize our content.

The Programming Associate will also have the opportunity to collaborate with team as we assess new program submissions.

We are looking for an experienced programming professional with a background in content for broadcast and digital platforms.

And we are looking for someone with an abiding interest in serving TVO's youngest audience:
pre-school and early grades children.


How you will make an impact

  • Work closely with TVOkids content executives and Acquisitions Officers to track and manage materials related to children's
  • Coordinate the delivery of completed TVOkids program assets, comprised of hundreds of pieces of content and related assets each year, ensuring that all materials are delivered to spec, in accordance with contracts and on time.
  • Work crossdivisionally as needed with Business Affairs and the Digital Media Services teams
  • Maintain and update program delivery database
  • Act as a point of contact for outside distributors and producers regarding program format, delivery and technical
  • Manage and store new program info, g., summaries, press materials, photography, logo images, episode synopses.
  • Oversee CRTC compliance reports
  • Manage the intake and organization of all submitted proposals and participate in submission review meetings
  • Review new project proposals as needed
  • Create and maintain a system to track TVOkids Originals content materials such as scripts, schedules, cast info etc.
  • Assist with program requisition process in CPR database

What you will bring to TVO

  • 2 years of experience in a broadcast programming or scheduling environment
  • Keen interest in children's programming
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and an ability to learn new database software
  • Overall knowledge and understanding of Canadian television production
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with various external stakeholders
  • University or college education with a focus on media
