Position SummaryThe Granite Club is looking to hire a full time Assistant Retail Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Granite Gear retail outlets.
Leads staff in providing a consistently high level of service, ensuring they are fully knowledgeable of the products and services available.
Under the direction of the Retail Manager, provides support as requested for retail in Salon and Barbershop at the Granite.

- Supports the Retail Manager in ensuring retail areas under their management are appropriately stocked to meet Member interests and needs.
- Maintains attractive, orderly appearance of the store with particular emphasis on merchandising.
- Initiates and oversees controls in the outlets such that losses and shrinkage are minimized and total profits are maximized.
- Hires and trains Staff required for the operation of the outlet. Manages and supervises the duties, performances and schedules of the retail Staff. Ensures adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Works with the Retail Manager to develop an annual marketing/promotion plan for sales.
- Works with the Retail Manager on the promotion of the Granite Gear operation including Granite News submissions, contributions to the website, and internal opportunities for marketing and promotion.
- Works with the Retail Manager in forecasting and management of the budget for the retail operation.
- Ensures all transactions are made at point of sale at time of purchase; maintains a system of checks on business transactions.
- Ensures that Staff are taught racquet stringing and repairs, to ensure quality stringing and repairs are available to the Membership.
- Ensures monthly inventory counts are conducted and investigates and corrects discrepancies.
- Ensures Retail Staff are supplied with and outfitted in a uniform including a nametag.
- Educates Staff on member service as well as product lines,
- Ensure outlet is maintained to the highest standard.
- Reports all deficiencies to Retail Manager.
Qualifications:
- 3 Years of Retail Management experience
- 2+ years of retail sales experience within a specialty environment
- Highly organized selfstarter, with ability to solve problems and remain flexible
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a member of a team; Member Service oriented
- Experienced in marketing, promotion, and merchandising for a highend market and clientele.
- Excellent verbal, written, and managerial skills with the ability to communicate with various departments and levels
- Ability to use Word and basic Excel spreadsheets. Experience with POS software is a definite asset.
- Excellent oral and written English
Work Schedule:
Must be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.r
