    Job Overview:


    As the Regulatory Affairs Assistant is responsible for providing clear and timely regulatory input to the Product Development and Purchasing Departments for ingredients for new innovation projects, as well as existing ingredient changes, ensuring that local and international requirements are fully met.

    The role will be tasked with combining knowledge of scientific, legal, and business issues to ensure ingredients used in products manufactured and distributed by Give & Go meet appropriate legislation.


    This is an 8-Month Contract role

    What You'll Get To Do:

    • Ensure new/alternate supplier and new/substitution ingredient approval process is followed and maintained at all times
    • Become familiar with Give & Go supplier and ingredient requirements and ensure new ingredients are compliant with customer requirements as well as relevant regulations and other legislation
    • Follow up with suppliers to obtain all required documentation
    • Review supplier and ingredient documentation and meet with Regulatory Affairs Manager to obtain final approvals
    • Ensure information related to regulatory approvals is circulated to the appropriate departments.
    • Assist in the maintenance of formulas and ensure records are updated as appropriate
    • Completing Engineering Master requests from the Marketing team
    • Assist in assigning new codes for formulas and ingredients and requesting new and updated codes for all other product components from MDP's
    • Inform relevant team members when formulations change
    • Assist in the maintenance of the label review schedule
    • Add all newly approved artwork to the master schedule
    • Add product claims and verification timelines to product schedules
    • Organize analytical nutritional reports from third party laboratories
    • Assist with submitting Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC) applications for new formulas with dairy ingredients
    • Review newly launched formulas from Finance teams and obtain amounts of dairy ingredients qualifying for rebate
    • Submit applications for rebate to the CDC
    • Stay informed of new applicable laws and maintain uptodate knowledge on food labelling regulations through attending courses, webinars, and the use of regulatory agencies' websites
    • Participate in weekly learnings shared by the team
    • Inform the team if any emerging risks that may impact labelling and regulatory requirements

    The Recipe for Success:

    • Completion of university degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or a related scientific field
    • Minimum 1 year's experience in the Food Manufacturing industry
    • Minimum 1 year's experience in a Regulatory Affairs role
