GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The SafeSpot Supervisor of Modular Housing will work collaboratively with modular housing site operators/community partners, to establish and support robust peer support and overdose prevention initiatives at multiple modular housing/supportive housing programs.

The position assists in the identification, recruitment, training and support of peer workers at each location.

The Supervisor will ensure peer program participants have the support they need to successfully complete the program and reach their goals as identified in their individual work plans.

The Supervisor is also responsible for developing and facilitating peer training sessions and peer work activities in collaboration with site operators and the harm reduction team.


MAJOR DUTIES:


  • Work collaboratively with site operators
  • Recruit, train and support peers
  • Work with partners to facilitate a condensed version of the TNG Peer Training Program
  • Provide leadership and supervision for peers enrolled in the program
  • Develop, in collaboration with the Manager, all administrative and evaluation tools for the program
  • Work with the Manager to adapt assessment and intake tools and procedures from established TNG procedures
  • Coordinate financial matters (honoraria and timecard submissions) and report to Manager as required
  • Provide ontoone assistance, support and life skills education to peers
  • Offer short term, case management support to peers and make referrals as needed
  • Work with peers to identify and achieve selfidentified goals and complete detailed assessment, support planning and advocacy
  • Form positive relationships with community and system partners
  • Facilitate TNG's Supervising and Working Alongside Peer Staff training curriculum for site operators and community partners
  • Work collaboratively with program partners to build the sectors capacity to support quality peer programs within similar housing sites
  • Connect peers with supports in the community that will help them achieve and maintain their selfidentified goals
  • Maintain accurate records and complete reporting as required by funders and Manager
  • Ensure timely, accurate completion of all program statistics

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/B.S.W. or B.Ed in Adult Education plus 3 years work experience with individuals who use drugs, experience homelessness and/or mental health issues or a combined equivalent of education and experience
  • 2 years supervisory experience with volunteers, peers, or individuals with lived experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working on a multidisciplinary team
  • Recent experience and demonstrated understanding in the areas of substance use, mental health, harm reduction from a trauma informed lese
  • Highly skilled in areas of strategic partnership development, networking, and addressing systemic barriers
  • Experience in building and maintaining cross sector collaborative relationships
  • Experience in program development, implementation and evaluation is an asset
  • Superior group facilitation skills and proven experience developing appropriate curriculum/workshop content
  • Strong understanding, analysis of, and commitment to social justice issues, equity, antiracism ad anti
- oppression knowledge and practice

Salary:
$60,640.00-$68,228.00 per year
