Women's Volleyball Head Coach


Under the supervision of the Director, Athletics & Recreation the Women's Volleyball Head Coach will serve as a catalyst in the continued development of the Mohawk College High-Performance Women's Volleyball program.

This is a part-time, contract admin position.


Responsibilities:

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all aspects of leading an OCAA varsity high-performance program.
  • Develop a firstclass studentathlete experience built on the leadership and guidance of the personal, academic, and athletic development of studentathletes.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate and recruit studentathletes that fit the culture of Mohawk College Athletics.
  • Creation of a yearround development program including the following phases: offseason, preseason and inseason.
  • Work with strength and conditioning coaches to develop a sportspecific strength and conditioning program.
  • Working knowledge of the amateur volleyball system both provincially and nationally.
  • Build a championship culture driven by the Mountaineer Performance Indicators (MPI's). These include academic success, podium relevance, community impact and leadership development.
  • Recruit and coordinate a staff of Assistant Coaches.
  • Complete adherence to and support of OCAA, CCAA and Mohawk College policies and procedures.
  • Develop and foster relationships with women's volleyball alumni athletes.
  • Identify community engagement opportunities in the Greater Hamilton area.
Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • 23 years minimum competitive coaching experience at the high school, club and/or postsecondary level.
  • Previous highlevel competition experience (ex. Club program/provincial program) considered an asset.
  • Must possess valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Must possess a valid G driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Required to provide a criminal background check.
  • Ability to interact positively with the administration, faculty, coaching staff, studentathletes and other oncampus and offcampus communities.
  • Demonstrated high caliber of leadership, sportsmanship and coaching performance.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
