About the role:


In this role, you will:


  • Manage and oversee the financial reporting and consolidation process;
  • Coordinate with area managers to prepare a consolidated annual budget on a ground up basis, allowing for benchmarking and performance management against established goals;
  • Produce detailed monthly forecasts and analysis, both for operational expenses and for use in project management reporting;
  • Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to support decisionmaking processes and track group progress against strategic goals;
  • Prepare/support financial modelling and analysis to inform investment strategy and development of business cases, as well as validating financial reporting (impairment assessments);
  • Prepare presentations/group communications as required, ensuring messaging is succinct, purposeful and consistent in tone;
  • Coordinate and ensure the efficient completion of the annual external audit, as well as enquiries or audits from tax authorities, where required;
  • Lead and mentor a small team of finance professionals;
  • Oversee the control environment including: associated IT systems, group policies and procedures, delegation of authorities, ensure compliance with control objectives through periodic review/audit;
  • Responsible for strategic planning of finance related IT systems to ensure the organization is meeting all its current and future needs.

Qualifications:


  • CPA designation; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • Experience with reporting under IFRS; experience with US GAAP preferred but not mandatory;
  • 5 years of experience in external audit;
  • 10 years of experience, post qualification including at least 3 years of management experience;
  • Experience with preparing executive level communications and analysis;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, bilingual (French/English) would be an asset but not required;
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning and time management skills;
  • Very strong team orientation with a willingness to assist others and coach for growth;
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
