Low Rise Construction Coordinator - Durham, Canada - Del Management Solutions Inc

We are currently seeking aLow rise Construction Coordinator to join our team. The position commences in June 2023. The position requires travel, therefore a reliable source of commute is essential. The target audience is recent grads from architectural technologist or construction mgmt. backgrounds
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent on site with overall project performance including cost, schedule, quality, and project status.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with subtrades, project managers, engineers, architects, cost consultants, and assigned construction manager
- Report on change order processes, including pricing, negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impact prior to reviewing with the Project Manager
- Administrating RFI and shop drawing process review and approvals
- Develop performance status reports for the Project Manager regarding cost forecast, schedule and safety.
- Plan and update project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and microdeliverables using the appropriate software tools and/or PM methods.
- Assist the Project Manager with issuing subcontracts and monitoring their progress.
- Assist the Project Manager with establishing project safety & environment programs and providing proactive leadership
- Enforce contractual responsibilities with subcontractors and provide direction on design/build decisions on site
- Involved in all facets of project closeout, including archiving documents, maintenance / warranty manuals, deficiencies and warranty work.
- Ability to travel between sites currently 1 site starting in Barrie will require 23 days per week, and site in Richmond Hill to require same upon startup. Ideally this position will transition to 2 days in Barrie, 2 days in Richmond Hill and 1 day remote/site office per week when both projects are in full spring
- Position will act as the owners rep on site and work as a liaison between owner (client) / DMS / Construction Manager and Architects
- Will need to be extremely organized, well spoken and presentable for clientfacing and DMS exec role
- Closely monitor the efforts and billing of thirdparty workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
- Ideally suits someone who lives north of Toronto and is recent grad looking to get front row experience in midrise construction
Must Have Skills:
- PMP, CAPM, Gold Seal Certification is an asset
- Engineering, Construction or Architectural diploma or equivalent, along with experience as a lowrise coordinator
- A minimum of 5+ years new build construction experience in an operational role
- In depth knowledge of construction equipment, techniques and processes from ground up through to occupancy and close out
- Demonstrated excellence in blueprint reading and interpretation, drawings/specifications, building material and required standards applicable to discipline
- Knowledge of applicable laws and building codes.
- Advance understanding of construction sequences, along with good understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) building systems
- Highly energetic and flexible, able to work in a fastpaced environment
- Able to establish a strong working relationship with sub trades and clients
- Effective and adept oral and written communication skills
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), with experience in various PM software including Microsoft Project, ProCore, Bluebeam, Revit, other, ability to navigate and interpret CAD drawing files
