Minimum Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience in team management
  • Relevant experience in obtaining scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors, submitting proposals to client
  • Knowledge of cost control techniques and setting and managing a budget
  • Experience in contract management

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Advanced knowledge of various construction regulations and winter patrol operations
  • Post secondary education in financial management and/or contract management
  • Experience in implementing a Safety First culture including managing incidents and working towards reducing incidents.

Day in the life:


  • Your day kicks off with a focus on ensuring that all performance requirements are not just met but exceeded. The overarching goal is to guarantee customer satisfaction and, of course, maximize profitability. Your daily priority involves optimizing the allocation of resources, both human and equipment, across the busiest stretch of highway in North America.

This means strategically planning and managing the workforce and equipment to ensure smooth operations while keeping the client satisfied and cost low.

You will be maintaining positive relationships with our client, the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) on a regular basis. It is important that you are able to stay organized and prioritize tasks.

The role demands a very hands-on approach to supporting your team, while overseeing day-to-day operations, as you will be working locally at the patrol yard with the team 5 days per week, while being called to meet at head office in Markham on occasion.

Whether it's unexpected challenges, operational hiccups, or urgent client matters, you will take charge of managing and resolving them promptly.

Quick decision-making and effective problem-solving are key components of this job.

Simultaneously a significant part of your day is dedicated to fostering a strong and capable team including any immediate issues and long term growth and development of your staff.
