Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role forms a key part of our leadership team.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading our production employees and overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensure objectives are met for quality, safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the processing and packaging of our products.


How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Actively promote and engage in sanitation requirements in all plant programs. Provides input on sanitation excellence across the location.
  • Oversees the cleaning and sanitization of equipment, surfaces, and plant environment by providing direction, technical support to all sanitation employees and other plant employees as required.
  • Plan sanitation requirements and activities by establishing priorities, scheduling, assigning work and communicating with sanitation staff and key stakeholders as required.
  • Monitor, update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures; lead and participate in audits.
  • Provides leadership, direction, guidance, supervision, evaluation, motivation and training of sanitation employees.
  • Ensures that both Company and Governmental quality, sanitation and environmental standards are met through close liaison with Quality Assurance and Food Safety Departments.
  • Liaises with the Maintenance Department to minimize downtime and ensure product safety and quality.
  • Ensures safe conditions at all times; takes appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees;
  • Order, manage inventory and sanitation operating budget.
  • Support and promote the Company's values as with the Company's health and safety program, maintain a safe working environment and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Builds and maintains effective internal and external relationships and other duties as required.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Food Sciences, Dairy Technology, Microbiology, Chemical or Bio-chemical engineering or other related education/experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years' progressive experience in Dairy or Food manufacturing environment;
  • Thorough knowledge of Dairy operations with emphasis on processing and sanitation;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, preferably in a unionized environment;
  • Must be selfmotivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure;
  • Strong team orientation and proven leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office);
