Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role forms a key part of our leadership team.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading our production employees and overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensure objectives are met for quality, safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the processing and packaging of our products.

How you will make contributions that matter:

Actively promote and engage in sanitation requirements in all plant programs. Provides input on sanitation excellence across the location.
Oversees the cleaning and sanitization of equipment, surfaces, and plant environment by providing direction, technical support to all sanitation employees and other plant employees as required.
Plan sanitation requirements and activities by establishing priorities, scheduling, assigning work and communicating with sanitation staff and key stakeholders as required.
Monitor, update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures; lead and participate in audits.
Provides leadership, direction, guidance, supervision, evaluation, motivation and training of sanitation employees.
Ensures that both Company and Governmental quality, sanitation and environmental standards are met through close liaison with Quality Assurance and Food Safety Departments.
Liaises with the Maintenance Department to minimize downtime and ensure product safety and quality.
Ensures safe conditions at all times; takes appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees;
Order, manage inventory and sanitation operating budget.
Support and promote the Company's values as with the Company's health and safety program, maintain a safe working environment and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety.
Builds and maintains effective internal and external relationships and other duties as required.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Post-secondary education in Food Sciences, Dairy Technology, Microbiology, Chemical or Bio-chemical engineering or other related education/experience;
Minimum of 3 years' progressive experience in Dairy or Food manufacturing environment;
Thorough knowledge of Dairy operations with emphasis on processing and sanitation;
Demonstrated leadership skills, preferably in a unionized environment;
Must be selfmotivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure;
Strong team orientation and proven leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills;
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office);
