With high integrity, provide a 5 star experience to guests and Shangri-La hospitality from caring people.

Maintain positive internal and external relationships and communicate with internal colleagues to advise of guest service needs, items which require maintenance and issues of concern in a prompt, proactive manner as appropriate.

Ensure compliance to all hotel policies, standards, procedures and practices.
Process laundry/dry-cleaning items to impeccable standards, with genuine care, attention and detail, using approved hotel products and equipment.
Maintain Valet/Uniform/Linen room in a clean and orderly condition.
Prioritize and respond to all guest and internal laundry/dry-cleaning/uniform requests in timely and efficient manner.
Ensure all alterations and repair of all uniforms and linen on a daily basis.
Ensure all uniforms are maintained and presentable at all times.
Operate and maintain all steam and pressing machines and report any malfunctions immediately to a supervisor or manager.
Maximize financial performance and contribution of the department.
Assist other Colleagues in Housekeeping and other departments, as requested and undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required.
Respect environmental guidelines.
Actively demonstrate teamwork, safe work practices, open communication, accuracy in transactions, respect, sincerity, helpfulness, courtesy and humility.

Functional Competence - Knowledge of Laundering/Dry-Cleaning/Pressing Techniques, safely work with chemicals, lift up to 50lb, stand, reach, grip and exert steady-paced mobility, able to push and pull carts weighing up to 250lbs regularly throughout 8 hour shift.

Operational Knowledge - Learn and follow Shangri-La deliverables, Shangri-La Toronto and Laundry/Dry-Cleaning/Uniform Room service standards, programs, policies and procedures.
Self Motivation - Able to follow through on direction, with mínimal supervision.

Communication - Able to comprehend, read, write and clearly speak English, including workplace policies, job instruction, departmental and safety information.

Problem Solving - Able to prioritize, multi-task, help others; calmly, respectfully, creatively and successfully resolve problems, as required.
Emotional Maturity - Interact with others in a respectful manner.
Ethical and Professional Conduct - Fulfill responsibilities with highest integrity.
Technology Proficiency - Fully competent in all systems used within department.


Other Requirements:

Minimum 2 years previous work experience in a similar capacity.
Demonstrated understanding for luxury hotel standards of service.
Flexible schedule required including days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
