Description of position
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is a permanent full-time employee of Sources Community Resources Society.
The HR Generalist will be responsible for implementing and interpreting HR policies and procedures, delivering HR support to management and staff, and supporting driving key HR initiatives across the organization.
This position supports recruitment, onboarding, employee updates, offboarding, and payroll, benefits.General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the design and support the implementation of HR policies and procedures that align with our organization's goals and values.
- Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HRrelated issues, including employee relations, performance management, and talent acquisition.
- Monitor and maintain accurate HR records, including employee files and HRIS data.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for employees, ensuring a smooth transition for both new and departing employees.
- Coordinate and deliver employee training and development programs, including orientation, compliance training, and professional development.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives, such as diversity and inclusion programs, and employee engagement.
- Support the annual preparation of the CSSEA Survey, quarterly HR reports, and WorkSafe.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Collective Agreement.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with management and staff to help gain confidence and corporation in the delivery of HR services.
- Assist with updating and creating company policies.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of federal and provincial taxation, Canada Labour Code, Provincial employment standards, Provincial Pension Benefits Standards Act, Workers Compensation Act, Human Rights Code, and other thirdparty agencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR and payroll role with a proven track record of success.
- Prior experience within a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of payroll procedures, requirements, and tax laws.
- Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and central data systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, multitasking and time management skills and be able to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with management and employees in English.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information in a professional and discreet manner.
- Successful Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review Program

$37.08 to $40.17 per hour
