We are seeking 3 Production Team Leader

  • Day Shift E-Waste team leader to support and lead the E-Waste Line
  • Afternoon Shift E-Waste team leader to support and lead the E-Waste Line
  • Afternoon Shift Shredder team leader to support and lead the Shredder

Shift Time:

Days 7am - 3pm Monday-Friday

Afternoons: 3:30pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday

The
working Team Leader assists the Supervisor in executing daily production demands in a safe and efficient manner.

In addition to the daily assigned functions within the operation, the working team leader supports the Supervisor with the delegation of duties on the designated production line, ensuring productivity and quality targets are achieved, facilitating employee training on the production line, and production reporting.

This role is responsible for ensuring that all company policies and procedures are always followed in order to meet company goals.


Responsibilities:


  • Direct and schedule the activities of team in order to achieve business needs.
  • Oversee employees on team including: providing guidance and reminders of appropriate workplace behaviours; assisting with training and assessment of personnel; ensuring adequate training, skills and abilities are demonstrated regularly and consistently, and initiating actions for improvement when deficiencies are identified.
  • Ensuring strong morale is maintained by leading by example when conducting all work tasks, particularly regarding demonstrating strong and effective communication skills and professionalism.
  • Abide by and enforce corporate policies regarding work and quality procedures, security, and health and safety procedures, in order to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Compile a daily production report for your designated area.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies through continuous improvement of processes and systems.
  • Maintain quality standards and a clean work environment free from safety hazards.
  • Manually, disassemble, and sort material in accordance with company procedures. In some instances, tag and move material to shelves, skids, or other assigned location in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Manually dismantle electronics materials by hand or small tools.
  • Uses basic math skills to ensure and record accurate weight of materials.
  • Report all irregularities and nonconformances to the Supervisor and/or Operations Manager.
  • Inform Management of problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labour.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all Customer, Supplier and Company information.
  • Instructs and informs team members of the health and safety requirements to promote a safe workplace and ensure the team carries out responsibilities in compliance with the provisions of the governing Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
  • Ensures team wears any required personal protective equipment and clothing.

Job-Specific Knowledge and Skills:


  • Ability to learn computerbased production systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of plant processes and procedures, including strong understanding of material classification and identification.
  • Job specific training in identification and classification of materials.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Health & Safety, Employment Standards and Compliance Legislation.

Working Conditions:


  • High volume of heavy equipment traffic.
  • High Exposure to designated substances; Lead.
  • High Exposure to loud noise; vibrations; hot and cold temperatures; dusty conditions.
  • Wearing of required PPE, respirator, safety glasses, gloves and shoes.
  • Repetitive tasks within a fastpaced warehousing, processing and manufacturing.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
