Job Description:


The
Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for reaching the Sales and Profit goals in the assigned Area by creating a cross-functional plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience aligned with the country.

The ASM will ensure to have the Best Teams and support their development.

They work with succession planning, talent and leadership development and structured performance management for the Area Team and Store Managers based on results, values and leadership.


The ASM will work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M standards, policies and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues.


This position is based in Quebec, Canada within our Sales Function and reports to the respective Sales Manager based on location within the country.

The ASM will lead the members of the Area team and Store Managers within their Area.


Core Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

  • Regularly analyze and follow up Sales & Profit KPIs and take actions accordingly
  • Ensure the hours plan is in line with the sales budget
  • Ensure that scheduling maximizes conversion within the frame of the hours plan
  • Together with the Area team, prioritize actions that have a clear impact on selling
  • Ensure an allocation that secures a good garment level according to the selling together with the Area, Sales team and SO functions
  • Follow up the store execution meets H&M standards with the customer experience tool
  • Implement and follow up on the Store Operations Best Practices according to the country plan together with the Area Team
  • Ensure H&M customer service standards are delivered in all stores in your Area
  • Analyze and implement the optimal concept mix and store layout in every store through cooperation with Sales team and SO functions
  • Ensure stores are maintained in a costefficient way to meet H&M standards and initiate actions accordingly
  • Actively prevent loss together with Store Management & Area Team & ensure all stores follow appropriate guidelines
  • Maintain an overview of the competitor landscape, potential risks, threats and opportunities and together with the Sales Team take actions accordingly
  • Oversee and manage recruitment, training, development and succession planning for Stores and Area Team in line with the Country HR strategy & goals
  • Together with the Area HR, follow up & evaluate HR KPI's & initiate actions accordingly to maximize results
  • Monitor, evaluate and manage the performance of Store Managers and Area team members; execute dialogues, development plans and followups and take actions accordingly
  • Actively work with a talent pipeline within the Area Team & Store Managers in order to support the business needs
  • Collaborate with Sales Team and SO functions and ensure clear communication to Area Team and Stores on business performance, company culture, strategy and Country and Area goals
  • Ensure health & safety, legal and security issues are always being handled to H&M standards and local laws securing the employee and customer safety

Additional Accountabilities:


  • Sales and profit responsibility for the designated Area

Qualifications:


What You'll Need to Succeed:


  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • Bilingual in French
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Area Manager or 57 years as a Store Manager for a large volume store or in a comparable role
  • Strong commitment and experience with providing a high level of customer service
  • Ability to coach and counsel staff and performance management and progressive discipline techniques
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office
  • Required domestic travel at least 50% of the time for store visits and meetings
