Wood is currently seeking aProcess Safety Engineer
to expand our team within the Oil & Gas Canada business in
Calgary, AB.
We are seeking experienced engineers with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance across the full life cycle of projects, including study phase, DBM, FEED and Detailed Design.
Our team has a long history of delivering some of the biggest and most complex projects in the Canadian oilsands, along with associated pipelines and refinery infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Firewater design
Perform fire and hazard assessments of facilities.
Develop fire protection philosophies and design criterias.
Provide input to fire and gas detection layouts.
Participate in model reviews. Provide guidance on human factors and egress.
Conduct PHA sessions (HAZID, What-IF, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL).
Manage the closure of risk actions/recommendations generated from PHA.
Perform consequence analysis and dispersion modelling.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
Interface with Clients.
Complete conceptual studies through to detail engineering stages.
QUALIFICATIONS
Currently registered or eligible for registration with APEGA.
Have a minimum of 5 years' experience with the majority spent working in refining, petrochemicals or oil & gas industries.
General understanding of process engineering fundamentals.
Must be able to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and work with minimum supervision.
Must be able to coordinate with team members in other locations across multiple projects.
Firewater design experience is an asset.
Consequence analysis and dispersion modelling is an asset.
HAZOP, HAZID and SIL rating studies experience is preferred.
Hands on experience with PHAST or similar software is preferred.
Experience in FEED and detail engineering projects is preferred.
