We are seeking a graduate in a masters or doctoral program to join our team as a Summer intern and work on a highly visible protein engineering project.

You will be responsible for training large language models in the protein space to accelerate our in-silico drug development pipeline while collaborating with experts in machine learning, computation biology, and in-silico protein structure prediction.

Accountabilities:

Develop training and finetuning strategies for improving large protein models.
Contribute to a large cross functional team at AstraZeneca responsible for redefining and accelerating our biologics drug development pipeline.

Essential Skills/Experience:

- graduate in a masters or doctoral program

Available for an internship from May through August 202
Strong foundational understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts.
Ability to read and interpret literature in the space of large language models, de novo protein design and adapt the learning to help solve open research problems.
Strong practical data science skills including the use of Python packages like pandas, numpy, and scikitlearn to transform datasets for model training and benchmarking.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

Experience working in a domain like protein engineering.
Experience working in a scientific research environment with crossfunctional teams.
Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and its processes.
