We are seeking a graduate in a masters or doctoral program to join our team as a Summer intern and work on a highly visible protein engineering project.

You will be responsible for training large language models in the protein space to accelerate our in-silico drug development pipeline while collaborating with experts in machine learning, computation biology, and in-silico protein structure prediction.


Accountabilities:


  • Develop training and finetuning strategies for improving large protein models.
  • Contribute to a large cross functional team at AstraZeneca responsible for redefining and accelerating our biologics drug development pipeline.

Essential Skills/Experience:

- graduate in a masters or doctoral program

  • Available for an internship from May through August 202
  • Strong foundational understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret literature in the space of large language models, de novo protein design and adapt the learning to help solve open research problems.
  • Strong practical data science skills including the use of Python packages like pandas, numpy, and scikitlearn to transform datasets for model training and benchmarking.

Desirable Skills/Experience:


  • Experience working in a domain like protein engineering.
  • Experience working in a scientific research environment with crossfunctional teams.
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and its processes.
