The Terrain Park Groomer is an advanced level slope grooming position.

This position is responsible for slope grooming using groomer vehicles and techniques that are essential to maintaining a skiable terrain at Blue Mountain Resort on time and to the highest standards.

Hourly Rate of $21.81


WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Groom all runs to a high standard and finish in an appropriate amount of time
  • Operate in challenging situations including changing weather/conditions and working around physical structures
  • Sometimes but not always utilizing specialized equipment such as winches or renovator features
  • Perform preshift circle checks and paperwork post shift duties including housekeeping duties and mandatory paperwork
  • Recognize and report equipment issues and property damage
  • Work with a GPS system to improve decision making, increase efficiency and utilize when breaking down hills
  • Recognize and report or repair potential safety issues including but not limited to lighting, signage, padding and/or poor skiing/ boarding surfaces
  • Maintain a good working relationship and open communication with Snowmaking, Slope Maintenance, Patrol, Lifts, Terrain Park, Events and other onhill staff
  • Assist in training of new staff and ability to backup Team Lead on Groomer Duty

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  • Able to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • 3 plus years grooming experience
  • Previous experience with heavy equipment an asset
  • Mechanical skills an asset
  • Knowledge of Resort winter terrain an asset
  • Valid G license in good standing
